YouthShare on the ground
Clubs & events team
You help create webinars and online exchanges where people recognised in their field talk live with young people. You shape their line-up: whom to invite, on which question and at what moment. This is a volunteer role in the clubs and events team: you report to the Programmes and Field Lead. You work with the Events Project Manager, who keeps the calendar of events.
Assignments
- Identify possible speakers, topic by topic: leaders of large organisations, innovators, researchers, public figures
- Maintain the speaker pool in line with the GDPR: public biography and its sources, themes, languages, time zone; each person informed from the first contact, each record erased on the set date once contact has ended
- Propose a shortlist for each session to the Events Project Manager, with the angle and the questions to ask
- Follow the news around the people identified (publications, reports, awards) so each invitation lands at the right moment
- Check each person’s public statements and possible conflicts of interest before an invitation goes out
- Write a briefing note for each confirmed speaker, shared with the Speaker Relations Officer and the session’s host
- Keep the pool balanced across continents, sectors, generations and genders
A typical week, at your pace
- The week’s news watch on the themes of upcoming sessions
- The speaker pool updated, with its sources
- A shortlist prepared for an upcoming session
- A check-in with the Events Project Manager
Tools to master
- Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud: the speaker pool and their organisations
- Google Sheets: shortlists and the session calendar
- LinkedIn, OpenAlex and Google Scholar: the careers and work of the people identified
- Gemini and NotebookLM, within YouthShare’s Google Workspace: first searches, with every fact checked at the source
Profile we are looking for
- Strong curiosity about current affairs, research and the world of organisations
- Rigorous research habits: every piece of information sourced
- A feel for the angle: linking a person to a question that speaks to young people
- Discretion and sound judgement
- Open to adults aged eighteen and over
