YouthShare on the ground

Clubs & events team

Clubs and events bring YouthShare to life, in person and online: meet-ups, palavers, talks, lab days.

Assignments

  • Run the facilitation training every new YouthShare club receives: a video session to prepare its first meetings and learn how to run a debate
  • Draw improvements to the facilitation guide from your sessions and suggest them to the YouthShare Clubs Coordinator, who holds the launch conversation and looks after the starter kit
  • Design training sessions for new volunteers with the Talent team: YouthShare’s way of working, remote teamwork, running a video meeting
  • Fit these sessions into the onboarding journey designed by the Volunteer Experience Lead: the Volunteer Onboarding Officer holds the welcome conversation and arranges first access; you run the training sessions
  • Refer every request for AI training to the AI team, which runs training on Claude and ChatGPT
  • Offer clubs follow-up sessions through the year: running a reading circle, leading a foresight workshop, hosting a speaker by video
  • Gather participants’ feedback after every session and improve the materials

Tools to master

  • Microsoft Teams: video training sessions
  • Canva: training materials
  • SharePoint: training resources, alongside the volunteers’ welcome guide
  • Microsoft Forms: participant feedback after each session

What you will deliver

  • A reusable facilitation training plan
  • Training sessions for new volunteers, designed with the Talent team
  • Up-to-date materials, shaped by feedback from every session

Your first three months

First month
Meetings with the YouthShare Clubs Coordinator and the Talent team, a close read of the starter kit, a first session observed, then led
Second month
A reusable facilitation training plan and a first session for new volunteers
Third month
A first review of feedback and improved materials

  • Good English and French

What this role gives you

The one-year commitment

A non-profit project is built over time. Every volunteer therefore commits for at least one year: time to settle in, carry the assignment through and pass on what they have learned. The weekly time depends on the role and is given in each role description.

How selection works

  1. Online application

You choose a role, present your background and attach your CV. A confirmation email gives you your reference.

  2. Profile review

The Talent team reads every application, matches it with the needs of the role and sends you a first reply by email within three days on average.

  3. Video interview

A conversation to get to know each other and shape the assignment together.

  4. Decision and arrival

You receive our answer by email, followed by a welcome to the team and access to its tools.
