The website and the team’s tools
Digital team
A volunteer role in the Digital team: you report to the Head of Digital and Team Tools. A confidentiality commitment, signed when you join, governs your access to personal data.
Assignments
- Develop the site’s services in JavaScript on Cloudflare Workers: applications and the Talent space, the committee area and editorial workshop, application tracking
- Maintain the integrations with Salesforce, Google and the team’s other tools: volunteer records, application tracking, accounts and signatures
- Evolve the service’s database through reviewed migrations, along with file storage
- Make the scheduled tasks that sync the tools every day and every night more reliable
- Write a test for every change and run the automated test suite before each deployment
- Deploy with Wrangler after code review, and document every change
- Apply data minimisation: each service keeps only what it needs, for the time set
- Work with the Front-End and Accessibility Developer, the Software Quality and Security Specialist and the AI Developer

- Cloudflare Workers, D1 and R2: services, data and files
- Wrangler: local development and deployment
- JavaScript and the Node.js test runner: code and automated tests
- GitHub: version control and code review
- Salesforce and Google APIs: integrations

- Solid grounding in SQL databases
