Voice, networks and visual identity
Communication & social media team
The specialists who carry YouthShare’s analyses and labs onto every network, in English and French, with one shared visual identity.
This role is for you if…
- You love writing short and sharp
- A wrong date or a missing space jumps out at you
- You move between English and French with ease
Assignments
- Gather from the labs the dated facts worth announcing: calls, upcoming events, confirmed partnerships, awards
- Prepare with each lab lead the news items they sign, a format now in preparation: title, date, short text, link, credited image; the editorial team reviews each item before publication
- Write the entries for the “In the field” page: event, place, date, YouthShare’s role, speakers, photos with their credits and alt text
- Write every short piece in both languages, and pass longer texts to the editorial team’s translator-editors
- Check every fact before publication: dates, names, roles; name a partner once they have agreed
- Review the site’s pages as it evolves, and flag to the YouthShare Website Developer any content that needs updating
- Follow the line and calendar set by the Communication Strategy Lead, and pass each month’s news items and field entries to the Newsletter Editor-in-Chief
Tools to master
- Canva: images for news items and field entries
- Microsoft 365: shared texts and exchanges with the labs
- Claude: checks on typography and on consistency between the two editions, with every correction approved by you
- Google Analytics: insight into the most-read pages
How we measure success
- Every event YouthShare takes part in, listed on the “In the field” page with credited photos
- Dated, verified news items in both languages
- Pages true to the editorial charter, in English and in French
Profile we are looking for
- Clear, precise writing in English and French
- Rigour with facts: dates, names, sources
- An eye for typographic detail
- Organisation and responsiveness

The one-year commitment
A non-profit project is built over time. Every volunteer therefore commits for at least one year: time to settle in, carry the assignment through and pass on what they have learned. The weekly time depends on the role and is given in each role description.
