Voice, networks and visual identity

Communication & social media team

On TikTok, YouthShare talks to young people where they scroll. We want a bilingual, educational and personal presence: real substance, with the right vibe. Serious about facts, light on form.

This role is for you if…

  • You know your FYP by heart, and you can tell why a video blows up
  • On CapCut, you edit faster than your own shadow
  • You make a serious topic gripping while staying true to the substance
  • For you, fact-checking is part of the edit

Assignments

  • Write short scripts from our analyses: hook, idea, proof, call to action
  • Shoot and edit videos under a minute, solo or with a contributor on camera
  • Launch recognisable series: “One lab, one question”, “Number of the week”, “What the analysis says”
  • Ride the trends, sounds and formats of the moment, when they serve our line
  • Reply on video to the best comments, start Stitches and duets
  • Prepare LIVE streams during lab events
  • Analyse every video (retention, shares, new followers) and adjust the strategy
  • Ensure platform rules and the image rights of everyone filmed are respected

A typical week, at your pace

  • Writing two or three scripts from recent analyses
  • Batch shooting, solo or with a contributor
  • Editing, captions, choosing the sound
  • Publishing and video replies to the best comments
  • Analytics: retention, shares, new followers

Tools to master

  • TikTok Studio: publishing, scheduling, analytics per video and audience
  • TikTok Creative Center: trends, sounds, hashtags and rising formats
  • CapCut: editing, auto-captions, effects, templates
  • Native features: duets, Stitch, video replies, LIVE, playlists
  • Mobile filming: a recent smartphone, a lavalier mic, a fill light
  • Canva: thumbnails and intro visuals

Accounts that inspire us

  • HugoDécrypte: news for young people, in vertical video
  • The Washington Post: a serious newsroom that has mastered the platform’s humour
  • Duolingo: a brand voice you would recognise anywhere
  • NASA: science made spectacular

Glossary

  • FYP: the “For You” page, where the algorithm pushes videos
  • Hook: the line or image that grabs attention in under three seconds
  • Stitch: clipping part of another video to respond to it
  • Retention: the average share of a video people watch
  • Trend: a format, sound or joke that is going around

How we measure success

  • A post every week, kept up over time
  • Retention that improves video after video
  • Comments that debate the substance
  • Followers who move from TikTok to our analyses

Profile we are looking for

  • You know TikTok, its codes and how its algorithm thinks
  • You have real talent for editing and short-form storytelling
  • You are at ease on camera, or you love making others shine
  • You check every fact before posting
  • Creativity, humour, responsiveness: check

A volunteer role, open to young people

Every role here is voluntary. The experience we ask for can come from a class, a side project, an account you started, a club or an internship: it all counts. These roles are made for young people, and we look at your drive and potential as much as your CV. Want to be part of something big? Go for it and apply.

Nice to have

  • A TikTok account you already run
  • You speak English and French with ease
  • Experience in science communication or education

What this role gives you

  • A portfolio of videos published for an international organisation
  • The skill of explaining complex topics simply, valued everywhere
  • Measurable results: views, followers, completion rate

Applications open until 15 January 2027

YouthShare reserves the right to close this listing before that date, as soon as the right person is found. So go ahead and apply now.

The one-year commitment

A non-profit project is built over time. Every volunteer therefore commits for at least one year: time to settle in, carry the assignment through and pass on what they have learned. The weekly time depends on the role and is shown on each role page.

How selection works

  1. Online application

You choose a role, present your background and attach your CV. A confirmation email gives you your reference.

  2. Profile review

The Talent team reads every application and matches it with the needs of the role.

  3. Video interview

A conversation to get to know each other and shape the assignment together.

  4. Decision and arrival

You receive our answer by email, then your welcome into the team and your first access.
