Voice, networks and visual identity

Communication & social media team

On Instagram, people discover YouthShare through images before they read our analyses. The goal: a bilingual, consistent presence that is recognisable from the first scroll, true to our woven identity. Here, aesthetics matter, and so does substance.

This role is for you if…

  • You enjoy checking your analytics as much as your DMs
  • You spot a trend before it is everywhere, and you instantly know whether it fits our vibe
  • You think in series and formats, well beyond the one-off post
  • Making a complex idea crystal clear in ten slides is your thing

Assignments

  • Build the monthly Insta editorial calendar, in step with published analyses and lab events
  • Come up with and edit 15–45 second Reels: a strong hook, one clear idea, clean captions
  • Turn an in-depth analysis into an eight-to-ten-slide carousel people save
  • Run stories: lab behind-the-scenes, polls, questions, countdowns before events
  • Launch recurring, recognisable formats: “One analysis in 30 seconds”, “POV: you join a lab”, contributor portraits
  • Set up Collabs with our partners, YouthShare clubs and creators who care about our topics
  • Reply to DMs and comments in YouthShare’s voice: warm, precise, respectful
  • Read the analytics every month (reach, saves, shares, Reels retention) and suggest what we keep, test and change

A typical week, at your pace

  • Monday: catch-up with the communication team and this week’s content picks
  • Tuesday: shooting and editing a Reel
  • Wednesday: a carousel from the latest analysis, with the designer
  • Thursday: stories and community replies
  • Friday: analytics and trend watch

Tools to master

  • Meta Business Suite: scheduling, unified inbox, insights
  • Professional dashboard: reach, retention, audience data
  • Edits and CapCut: Reels editing, captions, pacing and sound design
  • Canva: on-brand carousels, stories and covers
  • Native features: Collabs, broadcast channels, highlights, polls, questions
  • Metricool, Later or Buffer: scheduling and performance reports

Accounts that inspire us

  • HugoDécrypte: news explained simply, in short, regular formats
  • Brut: captions and pacing designed for the scroll
  • Our World in Data: crystal-clear charts everyone shares
  • United Nations: campaigns that hand the mic to young people

Glossary

  • Hook: the first seconds that stop the scroll
  • Carousel: a multi-slide post people swipe through
  • Collab: a post co-authored by two accounts
  • Save rate: the share of people who save a post, a sign it is worth something

Profile we are looking for

  • You know Instagram inside out: Reels, carousels, stories, Collabs, broadcast channels
  • You have an eye: framing, colour, typography, pacing
  • You write short, clear and lively copy in English or French
  • You read analytics calmly and love to test
  • You keep a calendar: consistency is everything

A volunteer role, open to young people

Every role here is voluntary. The experience we ask for can come from a class, a side project, an account you started, a club or an internship: it all counts. These roles are made for young people, and we look at your drive and potential as much as your CV. Want to be part of something big? Go for it and apply.

Nice to have

  • An account you have grown, personal or for a non-profit
  • You switch easily between English and French
  • You shoot well on a phone

What this role gives you

  • A real editorial line to show at interviews, with results to back it up
  • A portfolio of Reels and carousels published for an international organisation
  • A team of designers and researchers to create with every week

Applications open until 15 January 2027

YouthShare reserves the right to close this listing before that date, as soon as the right person is found. So go ahead and apply now.

The one-year commitment

A non-profit project is built over time. Every volunteer therefore commits for at least one year: time to settle in, carry the assignment through and pass on what they have learned. The weekly time depends on the role and is shown on each role page.

How selection works

  1. Online application

You choose a role, present your background and attach your CV. A confirmation email gives you your reference.

  2. Profile review

The Talent team reads every application and matches it with the needs of the role.

  3. Video interview

A conversation to get to know each other and shape the assignment together.

  4. Decision and arrival

You receive our answer by email, then your welcome into the team and your first access.
