AI in service of the mission
Artificial intelligence team
YouthShare works with Claude first and foremost, every day. The association has many projects to develop, in its five labs as well as its teams. The AI team wants to equip every team with skills and agents that are reliable, documented and easy to pick up, always under human oversight.
This role is for you if…
- You have already written a skill, a subagent or an MCP server, or you are dying to
- You enjoy varied projects: fundraising, research, mapping, design
- Testing an agent on real cases, measuring, fixing, trying again: that is your method
Assignments
- Write skills for the life of the association: project development, grant and call-for-proposals applications, research and monitoring, preparing meetings and events, welcoming volunteers
- Design a grant application assistant: reading a call, checking eligibility, outlining the proposal, drafting the budget, final review by the fundraising team
- Create research agents that gather reliable sources on our topics, cite them and turn them into summaries for the labs
- Develop maps of our topics: actors, initiatives, data by country and region, to explore on the website
- Build skills for the web design of our reports: structure, layout, charts, English and French versions, ready to publish
- Build MCP servers that give Claude controlled access to our resources: partner directory, calendar, project documents
- Create agents for recurring tasks with the Claude Agent SDK, with human approval points before anything is sent
- Test every skill and agent on real cases, document them in GitHub and train volunteers to use them
Tools to master
- Claude Code: subagents, skills, hooks, custom commands, plan mode
- Claude Skills: SKILL.md file, scripts and resources, shared between Claude and Claude Code
- Claude Agent SDK: autonomous agents in Python or TypeScript
- Model Context Protocol (MCP): servers, tools and connectors
- Mapping: Leaflet, MapLibre or QGIS, with open data
- Git and GitHub: version control, code review, documentation
What you will deliver
- A documented, tested skills library for the teams and labs
- A grant application assistant used by the fundraising team
- A first interactive map of one of our topics
- A web report template designed with Claude, ready to reuse
Glossary
- Skill: a folder of instructions, scripts and resources that Claude loads when a task calls for it
- Subagent: a specialised agent with its own instructions and tools, to which Claude hands part of the work
- MCP: the protocol that connects Claude to tools and data sources
- Hook: an action triggered automatically at a specific step of the agent’s work
Profile we are looking for
- Outstanding command of Claude and skill writing
- Development experience in Python or TypeScript
- A sound understanding of agents: tools, context, permissions, control loops
- The instinct to test, measure and document
A volunteer role, open to young people

Our roles are designed first and foremost for young people, and we weigh your motivation and potential as carefully as your track record. Want to be part of something big? Apply.
Nice to have
- Published skills, agents or MCP servers
- Experience with web mapping or grant applications
- Good English and French
What this role gives you
- Cutting-edge, highly sought-after expertise in AI agents
- Tools in service across a whole international organisation
- Varied projects to showcase: fundraising, research, mapping, reports

The one-year commitment
A non-profit project is built over time. Every volunteer therefore commits for at least one year: time to settle in, carry the assignment through and pass on what they have learned. The weekly time depends on the role and is shown on each role page.
